International Cooperation

The international expansion of the Program has been considered an important strategy for the growth and evolution of PPG Ciências. As such, several actions have been developed/discussed with the faculty to foster collaborations with new international higher education institutions (HEIs) and promote specific initiatives that enhance the Program’s internationalization aspects.

The PPG Ciências faculty maintains collaborations and initiatives with various international HEIs for research projects, article publications, patent development, student exchange, faculty mobility, cotutelle degree programs, and participation in organizing events. These collaborations involve institutions such as:

– Universidad de Salamanca (Spain)

– Universidad Pública de Navarra (Spain)

– University of California San Diego (USA)

– Sapienza Università degli Studi di Roma ‘La Sapienza’ (Italy)

– Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Morocco)

– Université Rennes – CNRS (France)

– Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain)

– Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del IPN (Mexico)

– Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Bulgaria)

– Universidad Tecnológica de México (Mexico)

– ITTLA-Instituto Tecnológico de Tlalnepantla (Mexico)

– Rutgers University (USA)

– University of Nairobi (Africa)

– Western New England University (USA)

– University of Mississippi (USA)

– Sorbonne Université – CNRS (France)

– Universidad Autónoma de Chile (Chile)

– Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany)

– Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie et Immunologie Intégrée Nantes Angers (France)

– Georgetown University (USA)

– Carnegie University (USA)

– Universität Bremen (Germany)

– Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (Argentina), among others.

Internationalization is not only a strategic element for maintaining and projecting the quality of research and human resource training in PPG Ciências but also reflects UNIFRAN’s commitment, as outlined in its Institutional Development Plan, to expand the university’s global presence. This institutional guideline reinforces the importance of internationalization within the university’s graduate programs.

International exchanges for students and faculty are primarily facilitated through grants from funding agencies and international cooperation programs, including:

– São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP)

– Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES; Sandwich Doctorate Program Abroad, PDSE)

– International Cooperation Projects through bilateral agreements such as:

– Brazil-France (FAPESP-CNRS)

– Brazil-Spain (CAPES-DGU)

– FAPESP Sprint Project
